Home made wheat flour gulab jamun is a famous and tasty dessert with very soft round balls dipped in sugar syrup. and it is prepared with Gulab jamun flour and sugar syrup.
Basically wheat flour balls are deep fried & soaked in sugar syrup till the balls absorbed by syrup & became soft.
You can prepare Gulab jamun using MTR packet. & here I have made with wheat flour. making with wheat flour also very easy method, although we will get same taste as instant packets. using wheat flour is healthy too when we compared to Maida.
Milk powder helps us to make more soft balls and to get good taste. here I have made without milk powder as its not available while I'm making this recipe. but if you have milk powder at your home you can use to get more smooth balls.

How to make Home made wheat flour gulab jamun :
Dough preparation:
- Firstly in a pan, add 1 - spoons ghee, next add 1 bowl wheat flour. put on the flame and dry roast on low flame. slowly flour begin to change color slightly. once it change color turn off the flame and let the flour comes to room temperature.
- Now transfer flour to a large bowl, next add 2 spoons ghee, 1/4 spoon cooking soda, 1/4 spoon salt and mix well.
- Add milk gradually and knead it to make soft dough. once done rest it for 30 minutes.
Preparing Gulab jamun balls :
- After 30 minutes, grease your hands, take small amount of dough and start making round balls using your palm. make sure balls shouldn't get cracks. it should soft and smooth. prepare all the balls in a same size. keep aside.
- Now heat oil in fry pan, check whether the oil hot by adding small piece of dough into oil. once its started floating on oil so that oil ready to fry Gulab jamuns.
- Slid balls gently one by one in hot oil. now fry on low to medium flame. slowly Gulab jamun balls get change the color. fry till they get golden brown color. then transfer them to bowl. fry remaining balls and keep them aside.
Sugar syrup preparation :
- Now sugar syrup preparation - take a large pot (vessel), add one bowl sugar and one bowl of water to vessel. put it on flame then stir continuously on low- medium flame. once sugar get dissolved add 1/4 spoon cardamom powder and 1 small spoon lemon juice.
- Stir again till syrup gets little thick and little sticky. if you check with your finger it should little sticky. then turn of the flame.
Final step of Home made wheat flour gulab jamun
- Now add prepared Gulab jamun balls to the sugar syrup. and rest them for 30 minutes.
- After that delicious soft Home made wheat flour gulab jamun is ready to serve.
Steps to follow for Home made wheat flour gulab jamun :
1 firstly in a pan add 1 spoon ghee, let it heat for a minute.
2 Add one bowl wheat flour to the pan, adjust the flame low to medium.
3 dry roast till flour get change color slightly, roast on low-medium flame till get light golden color.
5 Now add milk gradually, knead it to make soft dough. rest it for 30 minutes, so that dough will reach full absorption.
6 Grease your palm with oil or ghee, take small amount of dough and Make round balls in a same size.
8 fry on low to medium flame till get golden brown color. once done transfer to the other large bowl. keep aside.
9 Now preparation of sugar syrup. take large bowl and add one bowl sugar.
11 Once sugar get dissolved, add cardamom powder, and one small tea spoon lemon juice.
12 Syrup should be little sticky and thick. then turn off the flame.
14 Rest it for 20-30 minutes for syrup absorption, after 20 minutes jamuns absorb sugar syrup and becomes very soft.
15 Then transfer prepared Gulab jamuns to the serving bowl. Now enjoy delicious Home made wheat flour gulab jamun dessert after lunch or dinner.
