Bottle gourd curry with green gram
About recipe :
There are several ways for curry preparation, like plain bottle gourd curry, bottle gourd with Bengal gram, or bottle gourd with spilt green gram. and bottle gourd chutney as well. here you can learn this curry recipe with split green gram.
Generally, I would like to serve this Bottle gourd curry with green gram with chapati, and puri. but is also good with white rice or corn flour roti, or rice flour roti or ragi flour roti.
Well, I have used split green gram in this recipe, If you want to use Bengal gram, you can follow the same recipe, but u should have to use Bengal gram where I have used split green gram.
It is almost same as Bottle gourd curry with green gram recipe. and it also tastes good with chapathi and poori.

Ridge gourd curry
Preparation of Bottle gourd curry with green gram:
Chopping :
Step 1 Firstly, Peel the bottle gourd, later chop this into two portions to remove the seeds it has inside.
Step 2 Chop into small pieces, like square shape pieces, or even more small, once done with cutting just keep them aside.
Tempering :
Step 1 In a fry pan or vessel add one table spoon of oil. let it heat for a while, when its hot enough adjust the flame low-medium. now add half spoon mustard seeds, half spoon cumin seeds. when they begin to splutter, add one chopped onion.
Step 2 Sauté onions till they get transparent color, later add 6-7 green chilies & fry for two minutes.
Step 3 Furthermore, add half spoon of turmeric powder and one spoon ginger garlic paste, few curry leaves. sauté for 30 seconds to get rid of raw smell from ginger garlic paste, also curry leaves becomes crispy.
Step 4 Then add half bowl of soaked split green gram to the pan, sauté for 3-4 minutes. green gram should be soak for at least 20 minutes, that would helps us to get fried fast.
Bottle gourd curry with green gram preparation :
Step 1 Add Chopped bottle gourd to pan and add salt as required, combine them well. then close lid to cook curry fast & cook for 4-5 minutes on medium flame.
Step 2 After 5 minutes open lid, mix once for cook curry evenly. again close lid & cook till bottle gourd becomes soft and fully cooked.
Step 3 Finally, add one spoon coriander powder and half spoon zeera powder, just combine them with curry & garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. now we are done with cooking, just remove from the flame. serve hot Bottle gourd curry with green gram or sorakaya curry with chapati or white rice.

1 Firstly in a large fry pan or vessel add one table spoon oil. let it heat for a minute. & add half spoon cumin seeds and half spoon mustard seeds.
2 when seeds begin to splutter, add one chopped onion and 5-6 chopped green chilies, sauté till onions get transparent.
3 Add Few curry leaves sauté for one minute, then add half spoon turmeric power and one spoon ginger garlic paste. sauté for 30 seconds.
4 Add 20 minutes soaked split green gram to the pan, sauté for 2-3 minutes.
5 Add Chopped bottle gourd, & salt as required, combine all once and cook for 4-5 minutes on medium flame.
6 After 5 minutes, mix once to prevent over cook one side. combine curry at middle to cook curry evenly, cook for 5 more minutes till vegetables fully cooked.
7 Finally, add one spoon coriander powder, half spoon zeera powder to curry and combine them with curry well. the taste of curry will become more delicious by using these flavors.
8 Garnish with coriander leaves. then remove from the flame, & serve Bottle gourd curry with green gram with chapati or rice.

How to make Bottle gourd curry with green gram :
- Peel the bottle gourd first and cut into two portions to remove seeds inside, later chop them into small pieces.

- After 5 minutes open lid, mix once for cooking curry evenly. again close lid & cook till bottle gourd becomes soft and fully cooked.
- Add one spoon of coriander powder and half spoon of zeera powder, just combine Them with curry.
- Finally garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. & remove from the flame. just serve this Bottle gourd curry with green gram with your favorite combination & enjoy.
