Simple veg chapathi roll
About the recipe :
Simple veg chapathi roll or veg wrap is vegetables filled roll which is prepared by vegetables such as cabbage, carrots, capsicum. I have prepared this roll with chapati, which is also called as chapati roll.
Simple veg chapathi roll is a famous recipe across India. and it can be serve for lunch box, or breakfast. vegetables stuffed rolls are healthy too.
after preparation of chapati, place the hot vegetables stuff and roll, then serve hot veg roll. we could use vinegar instead of lemon juice, the taste will be the same.
How to make Simple veg chapathi roll :
- In a frying pan one table spoon of oil, put it on the flame and let it heat for a while. once its became hot enough, add few finely chopped garlic cloves and one inch shredded ginger. sauté for one minute on low-medium flame.
- Then, add chopped onions to the pan, sauté till they become transparent. also add 3-4 green chills. fry them for a minute.
Preparing vegetable stuff :
- In the next step, add all vegetables, capsicum one cup, and carrots, cabbage.
- Sauté for 2-3 minutes on medium flame, vegetables becomes half cooked, it should be little crunchy, so no need to cook completely.
- Add, one spoon of soya sauce, salt to taste, one spoon lemon juice, one spoon pepper powder. then combine them and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- once done remove from the flame, keep aside.
Preparing chapati for Simple veg chapathi roll :
- Firstly we need wheat flour to make chapati dough. take one bowl of wheat flour and sieve the flour before use.
- In a mixing bowl add flour and pinch of salt, then combine them.
- Start making dough by adding water gradually. do not add water at once, add water little by little and knead flour to soft dough, if dough is soft, veg chapathi wrap also will become soft.
- Once dough ready, rest it for 10- 15 minutes.
- Take one tawa, put it on the flame, let it heat for a while.
- Make ball size dough for chapati, dust flour and roll chapati. it should not be too thin and too thick.
Roasting :
- Place this sheet on the hot tawa, cook one side for a while, and flip to other side, and cook till brown spots appear.
- If u see brown spots, just remove from the flame. place in another serving plate. prepare remaining chapati in a same way.
Preparing Simple veg chapathi roll / vegetable roll
- When u transfer from tawa to serving plate, immediately apply sauce on top of the chapati, spread thin layer of sauce over chapati.
- Then place prepared vegetables stuff at middle of the chapati, and make a straight line of stuff.
- start folding from bottom of the chapati. just fold one inch from bottom towards center. and then fold 3/4 part from right end towards center, then fold from left toward center in same way.
- Finally press over roll to stick up, and Simple veg chapathi roll ready to serve. if its hot to handle u can wrap it with roll wrapper.
Ingredients :
1 Wheat flour - 1 bowl
2 Salt - as required
3 Grated cabbage - 1 bowl
4 Grated carrot - I bowl
5 Grated capsicum - 1 bowl
6 Pepper powder - 1 spoon
7 Soya sauce - 1 spoon
8 Lemon juice - 1 spoon
9 Oil - one table spoon
10 Garlic cloves - 4-5 finely chopped
11 Ginger - 1 inch (shredded)
12 Tomato sauce - as required

4 Next, add one bowl of grated cabbage, one bowl of carrots, one bowl gated capsicum, then fry for 2 minutes.
5 Fry till they get half cooked.
6 Then add one spoon soya sauce, salt to taste, one spoon pepper, one spoon lemon juice.
Combine them once. and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.
7 After 2 minutes remove from the flame.
Making chapati dough :
8 Take one bowl of wheat flour, add it to mixing bowl, and add pinch of salt to flour.

Follow the steps for Simple veg chapathi roll :
- Initially, to make this Simple veg chapathi roll , in a mixing bowl add one bowl wheat flour, and add pinch of salt. pour required water to the flour and start kneading to make soft dough. do not pour water at a time, pour little by little.
- Knead to make soft dough, once dough prepared rest it for 15 minutes.
- By the time, in a fry pan, add half table spoon of oil, and let it heat for a while. once oil ready, add 4-5 chopped garlic cloves, and grated ginger. sauté for a minute.
- Furthermore, add one chopped onion, and 2-3 chopped green chilies. then sauté till they get fried.
- Add all vegetables to the pan, one bowl grated (capsicum, carrots, cabbage). sauté for 2 minutes, do not over cook.
- Add one spoon pepper powder, one spoon lemon juice, one spoon soya sauce, salt to taste. combine them all and cook for more 1-2 minutes.
- later remove from the flame. keep aside.
- Prepare chapati by taking ball size dough and roll evenly in round shape, do not make too thick or thin sheet.
- place this rolled sheet on hot tawa, and cook one side for 1 minute and flip to other side, spread some oil over chapati, cook for 1 minute again and flip to cook evenly. cook till brown spots are appear on chapati.
- Later place the vegetable stuff at center of the chapati, and roll from bottom of the chapati, and left end towards center and then right end towards center tightly.
- That's it, veg chapathi wrap or Simple veg chapathi roll is ready to serve.
