Aloo matar curry is very simple to make as restaurant style at home only. there are several best side dishes when you are preparing any side dish for puri or chapathi, and this is also would be be a best combination.
How to make aloo matar curry recipe :
First half part :
1 In a first step, add 2 table spoons of oil to pan and let it heat for a while. once the oil is ready, add 1/2 spoon cumin seeds and 1/2 spoon of mustard seeds.
2 Furthermore, add one finely chopped onion, and sauté till they transparent.
3 Next, add 1 tea spoon of ginger garlic paste, sauté for a minute.
Then add one bowl of tomato puree, paste. you can also add finely chopped tomatoes, But here I'm adding puree because the puree makes the gravy smooth.
Sauté puree with onions and close lid. then cook on medium flame till oil get separated from gravy.
4 Once, the tomato gravy becomes thick and separated from oil, add 2 spoons red chili powder, 1 tea spoon coriander powder, 1 spoon cumin powder. 1/4 spoon turmeric powder.
Combine all of them once.
Second half :
1 Then add 1/2 bowl boiled and chopped potatoes, here i have already boiled 2 potatoes before started preparation.
Next add 1/4 bowl green peas and sauté for 2 minutes.
2 Furthermore, add 1 bowl of water to make gravy, and salt to taste, and 1/2 spoon garam masala powder.
Once added all the above, close lid & simmer for 10 minutes. the gravy should be reach desired consistency. if needed cook for more 5 minutes.
3 Eventually, top up with finely chopped coriander leaves & combine them once and remove from the flame,
Now the aloo matar curry is ready to serve. serve this aloo matar curry with puri or chapathi or rice.
Ingredients :
2 Matar (green peas) - 1/4 bowl
3 Tomato puree - 1 bowl
4 Coriander leaves - few
5 Oil - 2 table spoons
6 Water - 1 bowl
7 Ginger garlic paste - 1 tea spoon
8 Turmeric powder - 1/4 tea spoon
9 Red chili powder - 2 tea spoons
10 Salt - as required
11 Cumin powder - 1 spoon
12 Coriander powder - 1 spoon
13 Garam masala powder - 1 spoon
14 Cumin seeds - 1/2 spoon
15 Mustard seeds - 1/2 spoon
16 Onion - 1

1 Initially, in a pan add 2 table spoons of oil, and let it heat for a minute.
2 Add 1/2 spoon of mustard seeds and cumin seeds 1/2 spoon as well. let them splutter for a while.
Furthermore, add one finely chopped onion and sauté till transparent.
3 Then, add 1 spoon ginger garlic paste, and sauté for a minute.
4 Combine one bowl tomato puree, then close lid & cook till the gravy separated from oil.
5 Furthermore, add 1 spoon cumin powder, 1 spoon coriander powder, 2 spoons red chili powder. combine them once.
6 Then, add boiled & chopped potatoes, already I kept aside 2 medium sized boiled potatoes. and 1/4 bowl matar (green peas), sauté them for 2 minutes.
After 10 minutes check whether the gravy becomes thick as desired consistency. if not cook for more minutes.
8 Once done, add finely chopped coriander leaves & remove from flame.
9 Now, aloo matat curry, potato matar curry or potato green peas curry is ready to serve, serve with your favorite combination & enjoy.
