Potato methi paratha is a simple dish to serve for breakfast or dinner as well, aloo methi paratha or aloo paratha are same recipes almost, but the methi is main ingredient in potato methi paratha recipe.
You can prepare methi potato paratha with wheat flour at home, as it is very easy to make for breakfast. and follow the below steps to make perfect and delicious aloo methi paratha or potato methi paratha.
How to make potato methi paratha or aloo methi paratha recipe:
Dough preparation :
Step 1 Initially, take one bowl of wheat flour, and sieve before you add to mixing bowl. then add 1/4 spoon of salt to flour.
Step 2 Add 1 table spoon of oil to the flour and combine these once, then add water gradually to knead the flour to make soft paratha dough.
Step 3 Once the dough is ready, keep aside and rest about 15 minutes.
Potato stuff preparation :
Step 1 In a vessel add 2 large braked potatoes and Boil to make the potatoes very soft, once potatoes became soft add cool water to potatoes leave for a while to make potatoes cool.
Remove skin from potatoes and mash aloo to soft paste.
Step 2 Take one bowl of methi and add to bowl of water, and leave for a while to remove mud and dust particles. then remove water and wash for twice.
Step 3 In a mixing bowl, add mashed potato and finely chopped methi, and few coriander leaves.
Step 4 Further more add spices like 1/2 spoon of red chili powder, 1/2 spoon of salt, 1/2 spoon coriander powder, 1/2 spoon cumin powder, 1 spoon ginger garlic paste, 1/4 spoon turmeric powder.
1/2 garam masala powder, and 1/2 spoon carom seeds, 2 tea spoons of lemon juice.
Step 5 Combine all and make round balls.
Potato methi paratha preparation :
Step 1 Take big lemon size dough and flatten to place aloo stuff, and bring all corners together, and remove excess dough close gently by pressing with fingers.
Step 2 Now, roll as much as possible, make sure there is no stuff coming out from paratha, if any small stuff opens up dust some flour to cover.
Step 3 Heat tawa till hot enough and adjust the flame to medium heat. now apply ghee over tawa and place aloo methi paratha.
Step 4 Spread ghee over paratha and cook for 1-2 minutes one side and flip other side to cook. we can see that slowly paratha begin to puff.
Step 5 Cook two sides well till the brown spots appeared. and remove from flame.
Step 6 Now, potato methi paratha or aloo methi paratha is ready to serve.
Serve and enjoy aloo methi paratha with pickle.
Ingredients :
1 Potatoes - 2 large
2 Methi leaves - 1 bowl
3 Coriander leaves - few
4 Wheat flour - 1 bowl
5 Carom seeds - 1/2 spoon
6 Cumin powder - 1/2 spoon
7 Coriander powder - 1/2 spoon
8 Garam masala powder - 1/2 spoon
9 Salt - 1/2 spoon
10 Turmeric powder - 1/4 spoon
11 Ginger garlic paste - 1 spoon
12 Lemon juice - 2 tea spoons
13 oil - 1 table spoon
14 Ghee - as required
15 Red chili powder - 1/2 spoon
16 Green mirchi - 2
17 Amchur powder - 1/4 spoon
Given below steps wise potato methi paratha or aloo methi paratha recipe :
1 Initially, in a mixing bowl, add 1 bowl of wheat flour, 1/8 spoon salt and 1 table spoon of oil. and add water gradually to make soft dough.
In a mixing bowl, add one bowl of wheat flour, 1/8 spoon salt and 1 table spoon of oil.
2 Knead to soft dough and rest about 10-15 minutes.
3 In a mixing bowl, add large 2 boiled potatoes.
4 Add 1 bowl of methi leaves, few coriander leaves, salt to taste, 1/2 spoon red chili powder, 1/2 spoon coriander powder, 1/2 spoon cumin powder.
5 Combine all, and make round balls then keep them aside.
6 Take big lemon size dough & flatten to place aloo methi inside.
7 Bring corners at center and remove excess dough.
8 Roll as much as possible thin sheet, and make sure potato stuff should not come outside.
10 Spread ghee over paratha and cook about 1-2 minutes. & flip and cook other side. you can see the paratha begins to puff.
11 Serve potato methi paratha or aloo methi paratha.
